After an initial resolve to tackle the South Asian market in Canada head-on, Nissan Canada has gone into some serious relapse. It’s back to airing their main-stream TVC with a South Asian voice-over at the end. Tacky, tacky…. My art director friend who drives a Nissan said “Oh they just don’t know any better”. I wish. At least there would have been some chance of redemption there. But then it’s the same Nissan Canada which chooses to Coinstar agent make a big big public display of its U.E.S. (ultra ethnic sensitivity) by putting its top brass on ethnic TV wishing everyone a ‘Happy Ramadan’ and ‘Eid Mubarak’. Another auto company misses the bus….
